IBSCHOLARZ

The International Baccalaureate was founded in Geneva, and Switzerland still has one of the densest networks of IB schools in the world. Students here sit alongside classmates from dozens of countries, often in their second or third language, and many are applying to universities in several countries at once: ETH Zurich or EPFL, the UK, the US, or back home.

IBScholarz provides one-to-one online IB tutoring for students in Geneva, Zurich, Lausanne, Basel and boarding schools across Switzerland. Our tutors teach the IB syllabus and assessment criteria specifically, and every session is recorded so students can revisit it before a test.

IB tutoring for Swiss international and boarding schools

We work with IB MYP and Diploma students at schools such as:

  • International School of Geneva (Ecolint)
  • Collège du Léman
  • International School of Lausanne
  • Zurich International School
  • Inter-Community School Zurich
  • International School Basel
  • Institut Le Rosey
  • Aiglon College

IBScholarz is an independent tutoring provider and is not affiliated with any of these schools. For boarding students we schedule around house and prep times as well as the school’s calendar of tests, IA deadlines and mock exams.

Planning for ETH Zurich, EPFL and Swiss universities

Swiss universities can set specific subject and score requirements for IB Diploma holders, often including Higher Level Mathematics and a minimum total. These rules are stricter than many families expect and they change from time to time, so we check the current requirements early and make sure the subject choices and tutoring plan match them. Our university admissions counselling team can help with applications abroad as well.

Every IB subject, Higher and Standard Level

  • Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) and Applications & Interpretation (AI), HL and SL
  • Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Environmental Systems & Societies
  • Individuals & Societies: Economics, Business Management, Psychology, Geography, History
  • Languages: English A Language & Literature and English B
  • The Core: Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay guidance and Internal Assessment support in every subject

Maths AA HL and Physics HL are the subjects Swiss families ask us about most, usually because of university requirements.

Lessons scheduled on Swiss time

Sessions are booked in Central European Time, after school and at weekends. Every lesson is live and one-to-one on a shared whiteboard, which works just as well for a boarder in the mountains as for a day student in Geneva. Ahead of the May examination session we add extra past-paper revision slots.

How it works

  1. Free trial lesson. Your child meets a tutor matched to their subject and level and works through material from their current unit.
  2. A plan built on their school calendar. We map upcoming tests, IA drafts and EE milestones and set a weekly rhythm around them.
  3. Regular progress updates. Parents hear what was covered, what is improving and what still needs work.

Why families in Switzerland choose IBScholarz

  • Certified tutors who specialise in IB assessment, not general tutoring
  • Founded by an IBDP Mathematics tutor with 15 years of experience preparing students for a 7
  • 80% of our students score a 6 or 7, and students in regular classes improve by an average of two grades
  • Every lesson recorded so your child can revisit it before tests and exams

Frequently asked questions

Do you tutor boarding school students in Switzerland?

Yes. Lessons are online, so we can schedule them around boarding routines and prep times, and every session is recorded for later revision.

Which cities in Switzerland do you cover?

All of them. We work with students in Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, Basel, Bern and at boarding schools across the country, scheduled in Swiss time.

Does ETH Zurich accept the IB Diploma?

Swiss universities, including ETH Zurich and EPFL, accept the IB Diploma but can set specific subject and score conditions, often including Higher Level Mathematics. Check the university’s current rules early; we plan subject choices and tutoring around them.

Yes. We help students choose a workable research question, plan the investigation and understand the assessment criteria. The work itself always stays the student’s own, in line with IB academic integrity rules.

How much does IB tutoring in Switzerland cost?

Pricing depends on the subject, level and how often you want sessions. Contact us for a quote and we will send you the options.
